As FIFA has decided to expand the total teams to 32 from the 2023 world cup while this was the last time 24 teams were playing in the world cup. The tournament started with the host France playing against South Korea where France defeated South Korea By 4-0. From group A, France, Norway and Nigeria were also qualified for the knockout stage. France won all three games defeating Norway, Nigeria as well as South Korea collecting 9 points from 3 games. Norway won 2 games collecting 6 points while Nigeria won only one game and qualified to the Knockout stage being among the four best third-placed teams. But, South Korea could not become able to win any of the games.
From Group B, Germany, Spain, and China were qualified. Germany also won all of its 3 games and was qualified as the group winner. Spain collected 4 points from 3 games with 1 win and 1 draw, China also collected 4 points from 3 games with 1 win and 1 draw. But, Spain was ahead of China in goal difference.
FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019
From Group C, Italy, Australia and Brazil were qualified with 6 points each. Italy was ahead of Australia as well as Brazil in Goal difference. While Australia and Brazil had the same goal difference. Australia was ahead of Brazil in Head to Head. Jamaica could not manage to win any games.
From Group D, England and Japan were qualified. England won all of its 3 games collecting 9 points while Japan collected 4 points with 1 win and 1 draw, but Argentina could not manage to win any games. Argentina collected 2 points from 3 games with 2 draws.
FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019
From Group E, Netherlands, Canada, and Cameroon were qualified. The Netherlands ended the group as a group winner with 9 points from 3 games, Canada collected 6 points from 3 games, while Cameroon collected 3 points from 3 games and qualified to be four best third-placed teams.
From Group F, the United States and Sweden were qualified. The USA won all of its games and collected 9 points from 3 games, Sweden collected 6 points from 3 games, Chile ended their world cup 2019 journey with 3 points but Thailand could not manage to win a game.
After the group league, the knockout stage started. In the Round of 16, Norway Defeated Australia, England defeated Cameroon, France defeated Brazil, the USA defeated Spain, Italy Defeated China, the Netherlands defeated Japan, Germany defeated Nigeria, while Sweden defeated Canada.
